The 5th Language, Society, and Culture International Conference (LSCIC 2024) hosted by Mahasarakham University in collaboration with co-hosts from Guangxi Minzu University (China), Guangxi University of Foreign Languages (China), and the Royal University of Phnom Penh (Cambodia).

We are pleased to announce that the deadline for abstract and article submissions has been extended to June 30, 2024! This extended deadline provides a great opportunity for scholars to present their research on languages, society, and culture under the main theme of “Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Soft Power in Humanities and Social Sciences.”

*Selected articles will be published in the Journal of Man and Society, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Mahasarakham University (TCI 2).

Our keynote speakers include:

• Assoc. Prof. Dr. Natthanai Prasannam, specializing in cultural memory studies, adaptation studies, intermediality studies, book history, and BL/Y studies.

• Prof. Dr. Neil Anderson, specializing in Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language, professional development, and effective teaching practices in TESOL.

Both will deliver insightful speeches on the topic of “Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Soft Power in Humanities and Social Sciences” at this international conference.

Prasannam’s has made pioneering contributions to Thai scholarship, encompassing cultural memory studies, adaptation studies, intermediality studies, book history, and BL/Y studies. Currently, he delves into Thai BL/Y literary and screen media, exploring their roles as national and transnational creative industries.”

We are grateful to announce another keynote speaker for the 5th LSCIC: Prof. Dr. Neil Anderson, Professor and Chair of the Department of English Language Teaching and Learning at BYU-Hawaii.
Dr. Anderson has been a Fulbright Research/Teaching Fellow and a recipient of the TESOL International Association’s significant award. His research focuses on reading comprehension and metacognitive strategies, leading to numerous publications. Dr. Anderson is a frequent presenter at international conferences, emphasizing professional development and effective teaching practices in TESOL.
