From February 12 to 19, 2023, Tenri University from Nara, Japan, conducted activities under the “Tenri University International Participation Project.” The project was led by Associate Professor Dr. Katsuyoshi Sekimoto, Associate Professor Dr. Piyada Cholwara, and Mr. Masafumi Adachi, the International Exchange Coordinator, who brought 23 Japanese students to learn about local life in Isaan at Plaboo Village, Nong Saeng Subdistrict, Wapi Pathum District, Maha Sarakham Province.
The event was coordinated by Assistant Professor Dr. Wichaya Yoshida, a Japanese language instructor at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Mahasarakham University. Japanese language students from the faculty participated in the activities, which provided them with an opportunity to practice Japanese and engage in cultural exchanges between Thai and Japanese cultures.
